THE EGG HOUSE IS A SMALL, FAMILY-RUN BUTCHERS WHICH STARTED LIFE AT THE FOOT OF THE CHILTERNS IN AN EGG INSPECTION HOUSE ON AN OLD TURKEY FARM IN KIMBLE, BUCKINGHAMSHIRE IN NOVEMBER 2012.

WE BEGAN THE BUSINESS AS A DIRECT RESULT OF OUR LOVE OF FOOD. QUITE SIMPLY WE BELIEVE THAT THE BEST MEAT COMES FROM PEOPLE WHO CARE PASSIONATELY ABOUT HOW ANIMALS ARE REARED.

 

RICKY HAS BEEN A BUTCHER SINCE LEAVING SCHOOL AND OVER THIS TIME HAS DEVELOPED A PASSION FOR THE SKILLS AND ART OF HIS JOB, AND IN PARTICULAR THE PERFECTION OF THE BRITISH SAUSAGE; OVER THE PAST DECADE HE HAS WON MANY AWARDS FOR HIS SAUSAGES! HE IS THE MAIN DRIVING FORCE BEHIND OUR BUSINESS AND, QUITE SIMPLY, IS THE REASON WE ARE DOING WHAT WE DO!

EMILY COMES FROM A FAMILY OF FOOD-LOVERS AND COOKS; SHE BASICALLY ENJOYS FEEDING OTHERS GOOD FOOD. AS SUCH SHE NOW WORKS DEVELOPING RECIPES FOR THE EGG HOUSE. THE PASTRY FOR OUR AWESOME SAUSAGE ROLLS IS A FAMILY RECIPE GOING BACK AT LEAST FOUR GENERATIONS, AND SHE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MOST OF THE RECIPES FOR THE FOOD WE MAKE IN THE BUTCHERY...

AS WE HAVE GROWN AS A BUSINESS, SO THE TEAM WE WORK WITH HAS GROWN:

OUR TOP BUTCHER IS SCOTT; HAVING INITIALLY TRAINED AS A CHEF, HE IS NOW OUR MAIN MAN! WITH A BACKGROUND IN FOOD HE BRINGS A WEALTH OF KNOWLEDGE TO THE BUSINESS, AS WELL AS A LITTLE BIT OF STYLE...

LEIGH IS OUR BARISTA AND TAKE-AWAY FOOD CHIEF. IN OUR OPINION HE MAKES THE BEST COFFEE FOR MILES, AND HE CREATES A MEAN DELI SARNIE TOO...

ANGIE IS OUR OTHER BUTCHER, WHO KNOWS EVERYONE (INCLUDING A FEW PEOPLE RICK DOESN'T). SHE IS ALSO OUR MAIN DELIVERY DRIVER, TAKING ORDERS TO OUR LADIES IN QUAINTON ON FRIDAYS...

CONSEQUENTLY, A LOT OF OUR MEAT COMES FROM WITHIN 10 MILES OF OUR HQ TO PROVIDE YOU WITH THE HIGHEST QUALITY MEAT, AND IT IS ALWAYS FROM BRITISH FARMS.

WE SPECIALISE IN PRODUCING OUR OWN RANGE OF TRADITIONAL AND SPECIALITY PORK SAUSAGES, WHICH WILL BE AMONGST THE BEST YOU‘LL EVER TASTE. THEY ARE ALL MADE FROM FREE-RANGE BRITISH PORK, AND ARE MADE USING NATURAL CASINGS, WHICH ARE ALSO ALWAYS BRITISH.

HAVING BEGUN OUR BUSINESS WITH A SMALL UNIT AND A THREE-METRE MARKET STALL JUST THREE YEARS AGO, WE NOW HAVE A PROPER BUTCHER'S SHOP IN THE BUCKINGHAMSHIRE VILLAGE OF HADDENHAM, SITUATED BY THE VILLAGE GREEN.
