THE EGG HOUSE IS A SMALL INDEPENDENT BUTCHERS WHICH STARTED LIFE AT THE FOOT OF THE CHILTERNS IN THE EGG INSPECTION HOUSE ON AN OLD TURKEY FARM IN KIMBLE, BUCKINGHAMSHIRE IN NOVEMBER 2012.

THE BUSINESS BEGAN AS A DIRECT RESULT OF A LOVE OF FOOD. QUITE SIMPLY WE BELIEVE THAT THE BEST MEAT COMES FROM PEOPLE WHO CARE PASSIONATELY ABOUT HOW ANIMALS ARE REARED.

EMILY COMES FROM A FAMILY OF FOOD-LOVERS AND COOKS; AND BASICALLY ENJOYS FEEDING OTHERS REALLY GOOD FOOD. AS SUCH SHE NOW WORKS DEVELOPING RECIPES FOR THE EGG HOUSE. THE PASTRY FOR OUR AWESOME SAUSAGE ROLLS IS A FAMILY RECIPE GOING BACK AT LEAST FOUR GENERATIONS, AND SHE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MOST OF THE RECIPES FOR THE FOOD WE MAKE IN THE BUTCHERY...

AS WE HAVE GROWN AS A BUSINESS, SO THE TEAM WE WORK WITH HAS GROWN:

OUR TOP BUTCHER IS SCOTT; HAVING INITIALLY TRAINED AS A CHEF, HE IS NOW OUR MAIN MAN! WITH A BACKGROUND IN FOOD HE BRINGS A WEALTH OF KNOWLEDGE TO THE BUSINESS, AS WELL AS A LITTLE BIT OF STYLE...

JUSTIN JOINED US FOR A SHORT WHILE AT THE START OF 2018. HE WAS ON A SCHOLARSHIP FROM AUSTRALIA AND CAME TO SEE HOW WE DO THINGS HERE - HE TELLS US HE HAS LEARNT SOME INTERESTING THINGS FROM US, AND WE HAVE LEARNT A LOT FROM HIM TOO!
