Aimed at food lovers and keen home cooks who want to learn a new skill, we have designed our classes to give you a good basic understanding of some traditional butchery skills; helping you to buy meat and get the most out of it. We are also introducing essential knife skills to all our courses in 2017.


On this last course of the year we will be looking at how to break down a chicken for casseroling, how to create one of our cushions of chicken, how to bone and roll a shoulder of pork and a cushion of lamb as well!

Each course is slightly different but all include basic knife skills and we aim to teach you the basic core skills of butchery.

You will be able to take home all the meat that you have prepared to enjoy at home with friends and family (or all by yourself if you don’t want to share).

Our class sizes are limited giving Ricky and Scott time to spend with everyone, supervising you as you work and answering any questions you may have. This is a unique opportunity to pick the brains of our brilliant butchers!

Classes are held at our butchery in Haddenham on Gibson Lane by St Mary’s Church. They run once a quarter, on a Saturday afternoon from 3pm until 6pm and include tea and homemade cakes.

This class is £130 per person; this includes all the meat you will prepare.

If you would like to buy the class as a gift just let us know when you contact us and we will provide you with a voucher. Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase, and classes must be booked within this period.

You can also make a private group booking if you want a really different hen or stag do, or simply have a group of friends who are all a bit geeky about meat. Please get in touch with us to see what we can offer.
